Rules
- This competition is a BJCP-sanctioned homebrew competition open to all homebrewers. An entrant is one or more people submitting an entry. Member(s) of an entrant must have actively contributed to brewing, fermenting, and bottling the entry. Every member must be at least 21 years of age. An entrant may not be an entire brew club. Competition staff, judges, and stewards are permitted to enter. Professional brewers are permitted to enter as long as the entry was not brewed on commercial equipment.
- All entries will be picked up from drop-off locations on the day of the drop-off deadline.
All entries must be handcrafted products, made with ingredients available to the general public, and produced using private equipment by hobbyist brewers (i.e., no use of commercial facilities or Brew-on-Premises operations, supplies, etc.). - The competition organizers are not responsible for mis-categorized entries or entries that arrive damaged.
- The competition organizers reserve the right to combine judging styles and restructure awards as needed, depending on the quantity and quality of entries.
- Qualified judging of all entries is the primary goal of our event. Judges will evaluate and score each entry, and the average of the scores will determine the ranking within each category. Each flight will have at least one BJCP judge.
- The competition committee reserves the right to combine overall style categories based on the number of entries. Every effort will be made to combine similar styles. All entries in combined categories will be judged according to the style in which they were originally entered.
- Best of Show judging will be conducted by a Best of Show panel based on a second evaluation of the top entries.
- Submitted bottles/cans become the property of the competition.
- The official style guidelines for this competition are the 2021 Beer Judge Certification Program guidelines.

Each entry is $13. SoCal Cerveceros members pay $10. Contact us on discord or email for discount code. All entries must be paid before or with drop-off via PayPal.
No member of an entrant may submit another entry of the same subcategory, whether as an individual entrant, a member of the same entrant, or a member of another entrant.
Each entry will consist of capped bottles or sealed cans that are void of all identifying information, including labels and embossing.
Two 12oz brown glass bottles are preferred; however, green will be accepted.
Swing-top bottles will likewise be accepted, as well as 12oz and 16oz cans.
Every entry must be submitted with a bottle identification label attached to each bottle with a rubber band. Using glue or tape to secure the labels to the bottles will disqualify an entry.
Bottle labels for a single entry must have the same information on both bottles.
If mailing in your entries we encourage you to add cold packs and protective padding in addition to speedy shipping. (The competition organizers are not responsible for entries that arrive damaged or entries that arrive outside of the scheduled timeframe.)
We also recommend placing your printed entry sheets in a zip-lock bag and securing them to your bottles/cans with rubber bands.
Because of the nature of the contest, special categories may be created depending on the number of entrants.
Submitted bottles/cans become property of the competition and will not be returned.
